Agusan Marsh

The Heart of Agusan Basin

The marshland acts like a sponge, as it is nestled in the midwaters of the Agusan River drainage basin.

Despite the isolation, the marsh is inhabited by more than 3000 people, majority are cultural minorities, mainly the Manobo. The marsh people live in floating houses, consisting of bamboo huts resting on a platform lashed to enormous logs.
